Mokokchung, September 16 (MTNews): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has welcomed and appreciated the “September Joint Accordant” signed between the NSCN/GPRN and the Working Group of the NNPGs on 14th September 2022, reaffirming their commitment to the “Covenant of Reconciliation” and their commitment towards finding ways to transcend their differences in the greater interest of the Naga cause.

 

“The NDPP is confident that such a public declaration will be truly followed in letter and in spirit. This also shows the sincerity, dedication, efforts and sacrifices that are being made by the negotiating parties in trying to bring about a final solution and settlement of the decades old Indo-Naga political issue,” the party said in a statement on Friday.

 

While wishing all parties to the negotiations the very best, NDPP also said it is their ardent prayer that almighty God will continue to give all of them wisdom and understanding as they work to bring lasting peace to the people and the land. The NDPP further appealed to all stakeholders to continue to uphold the negotiating parties in prayers and stand in solidarity that a final solution that is inclusive, honourable and acceptable to everyone comes about at the earliest.

 

 

‘September Joint Accordant: Defining moment of 2022 for Nagas’

 

The signing of the September Joint Accordant between the NSCN (IM) and the NNPGs through the effort of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) is the defining moment of the year 2022 for the Naga people, The Naga Rising said on Friday.
“This turnaround is what the Nagas have been longing and praying for—to stand together as one people and work with a unity of purpose towards our rightful place,” TNR said in a press release.

Longkumer and Secretary Khriezodilhou Yhome said in a press release that they applaud the humility and courage exhibited by leaders of the NSCN (IM) and NNPGs to have come out in public to admit that they have ‘differences’, yet displaying the foresight to engage in dialogue and committing to move forward in nation building.
“We welcome the resolve of the NPGs to honour the Covenant of Reconciliation of June 13, 2009 signed by Late Isak Chishi Swu, Late SS Khaplang and Brig (Retd) S. Singnya. It has instilled new hope in the midst of the present confusion and divide,” TNR added.
TNR further said that much expectation remains on the NPGs to put words into action and to fulfill the public resolve made on September 14, 2022.
Further, The Naga Rising also extended deep appreciation to the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) under the leadership of Rev Dr Wati Aier for successfully mediating between the Naga Political Groups (NPGs) despite the existing trust deficit and divisions.

 

 

NGBF endorses signing of ‘September Joint Accordant’

The Nagaland Gaonbura Federation (NGBF) has appreciated and endorsed the signing of “September Joint Accordant”. The GB federation said that peace is of paramount importance for the Nagas, adding that Nagas have shed enough blood among themselves. The Federation said that their greatest concern has been put to rest by the signing of the September Joint Accordant for which they extended gratitude to NSCN (IM) leadership and Working Committee, NNPGs. The GB Federation also thanked the Forum for Naga Reconciliation for the successful mission initiated for the interest of the Nagas and further appealed to the Nagas to support the effort made by FNR and NPGs for bringing lasting peace in the land.
