Mokokchung, July 29 (MTNews): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has welcomed the decision to continue the NDPP-BJP alliance on the 40:20 seat-sharing formula for the Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections of 2023.

NDPP has in a press release congratulated the chief minister for using his “wisdom and political acumen in continuing the alliance,” and also lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party president J P Nadda “for their magnanimity in agreeing to continue with the alliance.”

“While the NDPP has always been confident of the commitment of the BJP, this announcement lays to rest many doubts and rumours that have arisen on the eve to the general elections of 2023,” it said, while adding that this also confirms the trust and confidence the BJP leadership has on the Chief Minister.

While seeking the support of the people, it also expressed hope of the alliance returning to power with bigger numbers in order to further carry forward their “commitments and visions for the State.”

“Our commitment of providing a Government that is transparent, accountable and accessible will continue to be our slogan and thrust. We look forward to taking Nagaland into a new era!” the press statement read.
