NE-RACE, the Northeastern Registration Agri Commodity E-connect Nagaland, organized a Farmer’s registration, market linkage seminar, and food processing initiative in collaboration with Nutrigo Natura Agrotech Pvt. Ltd., a Guwahati-based export-oriented company, held at Murise village, Dimapur. The program was hosted by Ariba Anar, State Coordinator of NE-RACE Nagaland.
S. Aning, an official from NE-RACE’s Guwahati headquarters, introduced and highlighted the NE-RACE project, mentioning its launch across Northeastern states. It serves as a platform connecting buyers and sellers nationally and internationally, supported by a user-friendly digital platform developed under the Ministry of DONER, with NEDFi as the Implementing Agency. NE-RACE enables enrolled farmers and buyers to sell their farm products free of cost.
Dhritiman Deka, Director of Nutrigo Natura Agrotech Pvt. Ltd., encouraged farmers to focus on food processing and value addition of farm produce, emphasizing the potential for increased earnings. He stressed the importance of effective packaging to enhance product shelf life and quality. He urged farmers to start with simple, home-based food processing products, offering comprehensive training and support.
The program also aims to engage women and youth from villages to enhance local livelihoods. Deka envisions Murise village as a model food processing cluster, contributing to economic upliftment. Currently, the village hosts a solar-based dehydration facility capable of processing 4 metric tons of fresh produce, established by the company, with plans for further expansion. Nutrigo Natura collaborates with the Nagaland State Marketing Board to process and market various products.
In conclusion, Ariba Anar remarked that Nagaland has already achieved significant sales through the NE-RACE platform and will continue to connect more farmers and buyers, aiming to increase agricultural outputs over time.
With the support of companies and the Government of Nagaland, we anticipate that the farming community in Nagaland will embrace a new vision and hope for the future.
Me pareció relajante. En una de las tiradas más aburridas, terminé ganando el doble de lo que había apostado. Sin duda, fue una buena manera de hacer que la espera se sintiera más corta.
