The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Kohima, in collaboration with the North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA), celebrated International Women’s Day at the Red Cross Building, Kohima, under the theme “Give to Gain.”

The programme brought together women farmers from Nzon Nyegi and Zanuo Cooperative Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), along with representatives from the Cooperative Department, banking institutions, the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, and NSRLM, highlighting the vital role of women in strengthening rural livelihoods.
The event began with an opening prayer by Kevileu Sopfunuo of Zanuo FPO, followed by a welcome address by Chitebuni Kricho, DDM, NABARD Kohima. Women leaders Asha Chadi and Neizounuo Thevo shared inspiring experiences on how FPOs are empowering rural women through collective farming and enterprise development.
Padma Shri awardee Neihunuo Sorhie, a renowned master weaver, delivered a motivational talk encouraging women to pursue their skills with confidence. Sibo Nekhini, GM/OIC, RBI Kohima, who attended as the Guest of Honour, appreciated the efforts of women farmers and institutions working towards sustainable rural development.
