The New Millennium Youngster Club, Wangshu Village, successfully organised the 21st Christmas Trophy 2025, marking a significant milestone in promoting sportsmanship and youth engagement in the region.

The programme began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address from S. Bechung, Head GB, Wangshu Village, who extended a warm welcome to the Special Guest, Peter Khole, Former General Secretary of the Tobu Area Students’ Union (TASU), along with other dignitaries, invited guests, and well-wishers.
In his address, Khole encouraged the players to view the tournament as a stepping stone toward greater achievements. He emphasised that sports is an emerging industry with vast potential to create meaningful career opportunities and help reduce unemployment in the state. Highlighting concerns over declining sports culture in the area due to substance abuse, he urged the youth to remain focused and disciplined. Referring to his arrival on foot, Khole drew attention to the hardships faced in the Tobu Area and called upon the younger generation to take responsibility in uplifting social, economic, political, and overall development of society.
Earlier in the programme, students of Baptist School, Wangshu, performed a special presentation. The event was chaired by Easter N. and saw participation from representatives of various Civil Society Organisations across the Tobu Area, reflecting strong community support.
A total of 12 teams participated in the weeklong tournament, which has grown into one of the major sporting events in the region. The event continues to foster youth engagement, encourage healthy competition, and promote the spirit of sportsmanship among the younger generation.
