The newly elected members of the Chozuba Town Council took their oath of affirmation at a ceremony held at the ADC office in Chozuba under Phek district on Saturday. Dr Daina Patton, ADC Chozuba & RO, administered the oath to the councilors elected from the nine wards.
Speaking at the program, Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, congratulated all elected members for receiving the people’s mandate and urged them to serve as responsible leaders for the town’s upliftment. Khamo emphasized that councilors must fulfill their duties with sincerity and responsibility. He highlighted the passage of the new Municipal Act 2023 and the successful conduct of ULB elections in the state after two decades, crediting Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s visionary leadership.
Khamo underscored the public’s high expectations and reminded councilors of the significant responsibilities accompanying their positions. He encouraged them to collaborate with the administration and the MLA to address Chozuba town’s challenges and enhance community welfare.
It’s noteworthy that out of the nine wards, four NDPP candidates and three independent candidates claimed seats in the formation of the Chozuba Town Council (CTC), with Sevonyi Keyho proposed as Chairman and Vezota Rhakho as Deputy Chairman.
