DC Mokokchung notifies on Mariani-Dessai road

 

Mokokchung, September 2 (MTNews): The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, has in an order stated that movement of heavy vehicles carrying coal and others of 40 tonnes and above load are restricted to travel along the Mariani-Dessai road.

 

This is in view of the extensive road damage between Mariani-Dessai at Km 25.050 (Km 7.050 on Mariani-Dessai road) due to heavy rain. Only 2.50m formation of width is available for traffic movement as formation and culvert has been washed away.

 

“Any truck owner/transport agency not adhering to this order shall attract penalty as per the law,” the DC’s order read.

 

 

NPWD employees to wear traditional garb every Wednesday

 

Kohima, September 2 (MTNews): The Nagaland Public Works Department employees have been directed to wear “traditional dress” on every Wednesday with effect from the month of September 2022 “in order to maintain the traditional culture and as a symbol of unity.”

 

Engineer-in-Chief NPWD, Er. Kahuli Sema has in a circular issued today informed that this was decided in the NPWD HoDs meeting held on August 24 last.

 

 

Directorate of Art & Culture informs rural libraries

 

Kohima, September 2 (MTNews): The Directorate of Art & Culture, Nagaland, Kohima has informed all the Rural Libraries enlisted with the Department of Art & Culture that the books for 2022-2021 and 2021-2022 may be collected from the Directorate of Art & Culture from 7th September 2022 to 7th October 2022 during office hours.

 

It was informed that all the libraries must come with Library Round Seal and designation seal (President, Librarian or General Secretary), without which, books will not be issued. On the expiry of the last date, books will be taken by the respective District Cultural Officers/Registering Officers to their respective Headquarters, it also said.
