This vibrant cultural programme at the international border area, held under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, was part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas (Tribal Pride Day), celebrated across India to honour the contributions of tribal communities. The day marks the birth anniversary of tribal leader and freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

The celebrations included cultural and educational programmes across the country to recognise the history and heritage of tribal people. Five cultural troupes from Phokhungri, Avakhung, Lutsam, Phokhungri Town, and Phokhungri Men performed at the event.
