The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has announced a selection trial to shortlist players for the Nagaland U-20 state team for the upcoming Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2026, scheduled to be held at Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh from May 2 to May 24.
According to a press release issued by the NFA, the decision to conduct the trial was taken during its Executive Meeting held on March 6 and stated that the trial aims to identify eligible players for participation in the national championship.
The selection trial will be held on April 11 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium. Players have been asked to report at 7:00 am on the day of the trial.
The trial is open to players born between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2009. Participants have been instructed to bring necessary documents, including a copy of their Aadhaar card, birth certificate, and a passport sized photograph.

Meanwhile, the NFA has appointed a five-member selection committee to conduct the trials and shortlist 30 eligible players for the final Nagaland state team squad.
The selection committee comprises Vesupra Kezo as Convener, Vizovor Liezietsu as Member Secretary, and Khwetelhi Thopi, Kivilu K. Kiba, and Tingnyek Konyak as members.
