The committee also extended its appreciation to the PWD (Roads and Bridges) for providing valuable technical input during the deliberations.

The NFHRCC, while acknowledging the State Government’s commitment to the Foothills Road construction, a project initiated by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and endorsed by apex Tribal Hohos in 2013 “with prayer and fasting,” highlighted the generous investment of Rs 100 Crores over the past 11 years by the state government. The committee also commended Governor La. Ganesan for his dedication to following up on NLA resolutions adopted in September 2022, as communicated during their meeting in October 2023.

Additionally, the NFHRCC also said it apprised the Minister for DONER G Kishan Reddy, whom they met in New Delhi in December 2023 at his Office Chamber. The NFHRCC also conveyed gratitude to Phangnon Konyak, MP (Rajya Sabha), for her “her support letter written to the concerned Ministry in Delhi.”

The NFHRCC also thanked the apex Tribal Hohos for their unconditional support to the committee and “gently reminding” the State Government for the urgency felt by the general Naga people for their “Economic connectivity Road.”

The committee also urged the PWD (Roads & Bridges) and the District Administration to reiterate their earlier notifications on refraining from mining stone gravels/boulders within 1 km up/downstream to preserve the longevity of the Doyang Bridge.
