The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has announced a crucial meeting on December 12, 2024, to discuss the 1st Phase of the 2-Lane Foothills Road construction. The meeting will take place at the NFHRCC base office in Kher Mahal, Dimapur, at 10:00 am and will involve key stakeholders including the Dimapur-based Tribal Hohos, Young Nagas Action Committee for Foothills Road, representatives of the Nagaland Contractors & Supplier Union (NCSU), registered Class-1 contractors, NPWD officials, and selected contractor firms.
According to a statement, the purpose of the meeting is to deliberate on a tripartite agreement to be signed between the concerned department, contractor firms, and the committee for the timely and efficient execution of works in line with the NPWD, R&B’s specifications outlined in the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
The NFHRCC has expressed its appreciation for the continued support from the 12 Tribal Hohos and the Young Nagas Action Committee for Foothills Road. The committee also thanked the Government of Nagaland for mobilizing necessary funds for the project. In the announcement, the NFHRCC has urged all stakeholders to remain committed to the project, ensuring that the work is completed successfully.
The committee emphasized that the meeting is a critical juncture in the project and warned that any failure to attend will not be taken lightly. Stakeholders have been strongly urged to be present to ensure smooth progress on the construction of the iconic Foothills Road, which is aimed at improving connectivity from Tizit to Khelma.
