Mokokchung, June 22 (MTNews): The government of Nagaland has in a notification appointed a 5-member High Level Technical Team to re-survey the feasibility of all alignment options of NH-702D (Mokokchung to Mariani Road).
The high-level team is entrusted to re-resurvey all options from technical as well as economic point of view. The team should also consult the concerned civil society organizations. The team is to submit its report/recommendation within one month from the date of issue of the said notification.
The High Level Technical Team included Chief Engineer PWD (National Highways); Executive Engineer, (National Highways), Mokokchung; Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Mokokchung; representative of District Administration, Mokokchung; and representative of NHIDCL.
It may be recalled that a survey for the realignment of NH 702D has already been carried out before, whereby 5 options have been placed on the table. Subsequently, a 4-member Joint Survey team was appointed on February 11, 2022 to ascertain the feasibility of alignment options of NH-702D.
The team conducted the survey on February 17 and submitted its report in favor of option-2, following which the apex Ao Senden wrote an open letter to the chief minister in favour of option-4. Consequently, the government has again appointed the latest 5-member High Level Technical Team to re-survey the feasibility of all alignment options.
