Kohima, 5 July (MTNews): The Naga Students Federation (NSF) has expressed pain at the tragic incident which took place along the NH 29 on 4 July where two precious lives were lost and three others sustained grave injury and expressed dismay at the competent authority and the NHIDCL.
“While the incident is truly unfortunate, it may be mentioned that NH 29 plays one of the most important lifeline for the commuters of the state of Nagaland and Manipur. The Federation expresses our dismay at the failure of the competent authority and the NHIDCL to ensure the safety of the citizens along NH29 which has already led to such tragic event,” NSF said in a press release.
Further, the Federation appealed to the concerned authority and the NHIDCL to immediately set up all safety measures and other vital infrastructures in place so that such fatal incidents are averted in the near future. It also appealed to all the commuters plying through the NH29 route to be informed of the travel advisory as issued by the concerned authority and accordingly comply with the same for safety reasons and necessary precaution.
The Federation also appealed for immediate restoration and repairing works of the two major bypass routes, one along NH29 at 7 Mile Chumoukedima-Shokhuci-Pimla-Mhainamtsi-Pungwla-Jharnapani Medziphema and the other along Kohima-Zhadima-Tsosinyu-Nuiland-Dimapur for the convenience of the public and other travelers.
The Federation extended its condolences to the bereaved family members of the two deceased souls and prayed for speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the unfortunate incident.
