NHIDCL Director assesses NH 29 damage

Atul Kumar, Director (T) NHIDCL, led a team of senior officials to assess the damage on NH 29 caused by the natural calamity. According to the NHIDCL, their swift response ensured immediate measures were taken to restore connectivity. Since Friday, the road at KM126 on NH-29 from Dimapur to Kohima has been partially opened for specific category commercial vehicles.

Kumar also held a strategic review meeting, with J Alam, Chief Secretary of Nagaland, to review the progress of the Dimapur – Kohima road project and address pending issues related to ongoing NH projects in the state.

“A joint effort by NHIDCL, state PWD, Police, and District administration will continue to monitor the road condition, ensuring a safe and gradual return to normal traffic flow at the earliest,” stated the NHIDCL.

Meanwhile. Nagaland Governor La Ganesan also met today with the Director (Technical) of the National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Atul Kumar, along with other officials in Chümoukedima. During the meeting, the Governor urged NHIDCL to take all necessary measures to mitigate the damages caused by the landslides and to complete all works along the NH29 stretch as soon as possible.
