Mokokchung, October 23 (MTNews): The Nagaland In-Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) has asked the State Government to review the “re-employment” envisaged by the notification the July 15, 2022 notification and to recruit sufficient doctors to fill all the vacant and sanctioned posts and regularize all contract appointments made during the covid-19 pandemic in order to run healthcare delivery system smoothly.

“Let it be made into actual translation of enhanced superannuation age of 62 years for doctors without any condition and criteria,” NIDA said in a press release on Saturday.

While saying that it is never in the interest of NIDA to confront the Government of Nagaland on any issues, the association said that, as a mature association, it believes that they rather have much to contribute to the healthcare delivery system and contribute to the advancement of medical science in the state. “Likewise, the GoN also expected to take advantage of the opportunity and utilise the technical expertise and human resources of the  NIDA to serve the best interest of the government,” it said.

However, it noted that the superannuation issue has become a matter of contention between NIDA and government of Nagaland, and said that it is very unfortunate that the policy makers failed to understand the “finer points of the issue.”

“Instead of building a better relation between the two and addressing the issue with trust, the policy makers have rather used deceptive methods to mislead both the association and the general public of Nagaland,” NIDA observed.
