19-year-old Nieketuno Sechü was crowned Miss Nagaland 2023 during a glittering grand finale of the 32nd edition of Miss Nagaland beauty pageant held at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima on Friday. Also the Miss Chümoukedima 2023, Sechü won the Miss Perfect 10 subtitle.
20-year-old Vimgha Sheqi and 19-year-old Ilihika Aye were adjudged first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
The event was organized by Beauty and Aesthetics Society (BASN) where top 14 semifinalists competed for the coveted title and crown of Miss Nagaland 2023.
The winner Sechü received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, along with a direct entry to Miss Northeast and the opportunity to represent Nagaland nationally, complemented by gift hampers.
The first runner-up Sheqi was awarded with Rs 70,000, gift hampers, and a direct entry to Miss Northeast, while the second runner-up Ilihika Aye received Rs 50,000 and gift hampers.
Due to a resolution by the Eastern Nagaland Women Organization in 2018, seven tribes from Eastern Nagaland did not participate in the beauty pageant while Wokha had no representative due to the inability to organize the pageant and Miss Tokhü not meeting the prescribed criteria, said the organizers of the show.
