During the inauguration of the Mega Job Fair, a keynote address was delivered by L Lanuwabang, Director of NIELIT Kohima. He emphasized the importance of reskilling and upskilling in an evolving job market, particularly as automation and artificial intelligence (AI) continue to reshape industries. He urged job seekers and aspiring young professionals to stay agile and future-ready, stressing the need to adapt to new fields of work. He also highlighted the necessity of IT and technology skills in every business and industry.

Reflecting on the traditional preference for government jobs in Nagaland, he encouraged participants to broaden their horizons and consider private-sector opportunities with equal fervour. “The experience and exposure you gain from these roles will help shape your career and enhance your competitiveness in the long run,” he said, thanking the employers for their participation and encouraging candidates to seize opportunities, even if they may initially feel outside their comfort zones.
