Kohima, March 10 (MTNews): Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in the 5 km belt on the Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland state with effect from January 25, 2023 for a period of 60 days.

 

According to the ADM Sivasagar, the night curfew has been imposed “as a precautionary measure to prevent the occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam /Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district.”

 

The ADM informed that movement of any person/ group of persons/any vehicular traffic has been prohibited during the period of night curfew.

 

However, Magistrates, Security personnel of the Army/CRPF/Police, and civil officials deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
