Nikhsay Mitra is a program that provides three-pronged support: nutritional, additional diagnostic, and vocational. This program was brought in under the direction of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with the intention of eradicating TB by 2025. Every month, nutritional supplements are given to TB patients by the District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC), Mokokchung so the needy can take their medications and stay healthy.
The DTC, Mokokchung will buy supplements from the donations received from doctors, staff, and well-wishers each month to support the health and wellbeing of all patients receiving TB treatment. A source also informed Mokokchung Times that they purchase supplies like dal, eggs, sugar, milk, soaps, etc. in advance and distribute them to the patients.
