Kohima, 14 October (MTNews): Kohima, 14 October (MTNews): Nimok Power FC launched its official jersey for the upcoming 3rd edition of the Nagaland Futsal Championship 2023 at Food Balance Restaurant, Kohima on Saturday. The jersey was launched by Food Balance restaurant proprietor Zhiethrolhi Krome, who is the sponsor of the team jersey.
Speaking on the occasion, Krome appreciated the club for taking the initiative and hoped the youngsters will be able to make the best use of the platform. While saying futsal is very new in the state, and hoped the game which has become one of the most played sports in Kohima and Dimapur, will also find its place in the state. He urged the players to work hard and keep themselves fit, as the match requires a lot of energy and stamina to play. He said that there is no shortcut to success, and that hard work and dedication are essential to succeed in their career.
The Futsal Championship 2023 is scheduled to be held from 17 to 20 October 2023, hosted by the Chumoukedima District Football Association (CDFA) and organized by the Nagaland Football Association (NFA). A club representing each respective district will vie for the coveted title. The Champion of the said tournament shall also represent Nagaland State during the National Futsal Championship.
Nimok Power FC will represent the Phek district for the championship. The team roster includes Punuru Nienu as the captain, along with players in various positions and roles, under the guidance of coach Nesato Dawhuo, who holds an AIFF D License. The managerial role is undertaken by Zhovezo Resu, while Sekho Dawhuo serves as the managing director.
