Nine district Chambers of Commerce threaten indefinite shutdown over ULB nominee demand

In a joint press release on Tuesday, nine district Chambers of Commerce and Industry announced that they will enforce an “indefinite shutdown” in their respective districts if the government fails to respond positively to their demand within two weeks. The demand pertains to the inclusion of government nominees from the business community in the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The nine district Chambers of Commerce and Industry involved are from Dimapur, Zunheboto, Chümoukedima, Meluri, Phek, Niuland, Wokha, Tseminyu, and Peren.
