Niuland, 22 February (MTNews): Nagaland’s Minister for PHE & Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated the silver jubilee edition of the WSSA (Western Sümi Sports Association) MBE Zhuikhu Memorial Trophy Gold Cup today at Niuland Town.
Held under the theme ‘Blow the victory trumpet,’ the eight-day event is organized by the WSSA and hosted by Niuland Area Sports Association. Teams from 11 units under WSSA are participating in the competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Jacob urged the youngsters to pursue their dreams with commitment and dedication, stating that sports can positively change an individual’s life. He encouraged the youth to be the brand ambassadors of unity and be aware of their responsibilities towards society.
“I also call upon our budding sportspersons to exhibit humility, sportsmanship, and use sports to unify communities. If they bear these in mind, then I have no doubt that they’ll even achieve the impossible,” he added.
He also inaugurated the Silver Jubilee Monolith on the occasion.
