The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has expressed strong protest against the bail granted to all prime accused in the murder case of a young mother at Pimla village. Extending solidarity with the Zeliangrong Mepui Organisation, the NMA termed the crime “serious and horrifying” and appealed to the State Government to intervene to ensure justice.

In a statement issued Saturday, the NMA recalled that it had earlier met the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, urging him to expedite investigations and ensure punitive measures as per the law.

With the appointment of a new Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, the Association has now appealed for urgent cognisance of the petition filed by the former Commissioner in court, and for the accused to remain in custody until the trial is complete and justice delivered.

Calling the case “heinous,” the NMA urged Naga women to stand together in solidarity “for justice to be served in the heinous Pimla murder case of our beloved sister and mother.”
