The Emergency Tatar Hoho of the Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) convened on October 21, 2024, in Oking Dimapur, where they deliberated on serious allegations against Brig. (Retd) S Singnya, the Kedahge. The assembly discussed charges stating that Singnya “has become senile and incompetent owing to his advanced age” and “lacks integrity as his decisions tend to lean on vested interests,” ultimately putting “individual interest before national interest.”

The Emergency Tatar Hoho further said that Brig (Retd) S Singnya had committed “Treason against the Naga Nation and the NNC/FGN by colluding with enemy forces and individuals with vested interests to divide and weaken the NNC/FGN.” Following these deliberations, the assembly initiated impeachment proceedings against him under the provisions of Article 22, in accordance with Article 28 of the Yehzabo of Naga Land.

It was said that upon reviewing the charges, the Emergency Tatar Hoho found “the validity and veracity of the Charges and Allegations” and unanimously voted for the impeachment of Brig. (Retd) S Singnya, removing him “from the Office of the Kedahge of NNC/FGN with immediate effect.”

With this decision, the assembly resolved that “on the removal of the Kedahge, the Kedallo shall act as the Acting Kedahge, NNC/FGN, until fresh election takes place as per the provision laid down in Article 29 of the Yehzabo of Nagaland.”

This was issued by Rukulhu Phuswuo, Speaker, Tatar Hoho, Federal Government of Nagaland.
