The Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPGs) has announced a set of resolutions aimed at ensuring smooth coordination within the committee under the leadership of Convener N Kitovi Zhimomi.

According to the declaration, the Working Committee has, after consultations, accepted the proposal submitted by NSCN-R (Akato) and Ato Kilonser K. Michael to part ways amicably. The decision formalises the separation between the two leaders, who had earlier functioned within the same organisational structure.

The Committee further resolved that the NSCN/GPRN led by K Michael will now be recognised as the tenth entity under the WC-NNPGs.

In its resolutions, the Working Committee stated that both groups – one led by Akato Chophi, President of NSCN-R (Akato), and the other led by K. Michael – must adhere to the principles of the WC-NNPGs. It added that neither side should engage in any activity detrimental to the collective functioning of the Committee.

The declaration emphasized that both leaders are expected to coordinate, cooperate, and work together with other affiliates of the Working Committee on all matters concerning the collective interest of the WC-NNPGs and the Naga people. The WC noted that such unity is essential as it continues to work towards an early Indo-Naga political settlement.

The declaration was issued jointly by N Kitovi Zhimomi, Convener, WC-NNPGs;
Akato Chophi, President, NSCN-R (Akato) and Co-Convener, WC-NNPGs;
K Michael, Ato Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN and Co-Convener, WC-NNPGs; and
Hokato Vusshe, Ato Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN-Khango/Vusshe and Co-Convener, WC-NNPGs.
