The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Wednesday informed the public that there is currently no shortage of fuel or LPG cylinders in Mokokchung, assuring that supplies are continuing as normal.
In a statement, the chamber said petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders remain available in the market and urged the public not to panic or resort to hoarding.
While acknowledging the tensions in the Middle East and their global implications, MCCI appealed to the public not to fall prey to rumours or unconfirmed information regarding the supply of essential commodities.
The chamber further assured that it would ensure the continued availability of essential commodities, including petrol, diesel and LPG, under normal conditions.
However, it stated that in the event global geopolitical tensions escalate in the future, MCCI would make appropriate announcements in consultation with the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, MCCI also informed members of the business community in Mokokchung that there have been reports of “underground” elements seeking unsolicited donations. The chamber advised members to remain vigilant and report any such incidents to the MCCI office promptly.
