Mokokchung, July 18 (MTNews): The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) have announced on Monday the disciplines for the upcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 (NOPG), which will take place from August 22nd to August 27th, 2022.
The NOA has identified disciplines of Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Shooting Sport, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Tennis and Wushu after “taking into account available infrastructure and resources.” Some disciplines will start at an earlier date and will be notified separately, NOA informed.
The association notified that the list of medal events for all the disciplines will be notified separately and that the contingents will be as per the 16 districts of Nagaland.
The NOA has also asked every district to appoint a Chef de Mission, a Deputy Chef de Mission, and a District Team Manager while the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of these authorities have been asked to be forwarded to NOA at nagaolym@gmail.com by August 5, 2022.
The NOA informed that player and team registration will be done electronically online, with the deadline for players and officials registration being August 13, 2022. The organization also mentioned that once players are registered, their names will not be changed.
The association added further that it will sanction the preparatory expenditure to the respective Deputy Commissioners depending on the number of athletes representing the districts. The Games Organizing Committee will provide lodging, local transportation, meals, and technical competition preparations in the host city. The dates for arrival and departure will be notified separately.
It was also informed that a separate notification related to the Paralympic discipline will be notified by the Paralympic Committee and that the Para sports discipline will be in the form of demonstration sports and not inter-district.
