The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and its affiliated units welcomed Paralympian Hokato Hotozhe Sema upon his arrival at Dimapur Airport today, following his remarkable performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, where he secured a bronze medal in the shot put F57 event.
NOA officials congratulated Hokato on his monumental achievement, commending his resilience, dedication, and exceptional representation of Nagaland and India on the global stage.
“His triumph not only adds to India’s Paralympics medal tally but also serves as an inspiration to countless athletes across Nagaland and beyond,” NOA said in a press release.
The NOA also extended its heartfelt appreciation to the State Government for their generous support and recognition of Hokato’s efforts. The association expressed gratitude for the recent announcement of a special cash award of Rs1.5 crore to Hokato by the State Government in recognition of his historic Paralympic medal win.
In collaboration with the State Government, the NOA is currently coordinating the arrangements for a formal felicitation program to honor Hokato’s extraordinary achievements. The event will be a celebration of his perseverance and the pride he has brought to Nagaland, NOA said.
The NOA said it remains committed to supporting and promoting athletes from across the state, ensuring they have the resources and recognition needed to excel on national and international platforms.
Gorkha Students’ Union Dimapur and Dimapur Naga Students’ Union jointly extended a warm welcome to Hokato Hotozhe Sema on his arrival at Dimapur Airport today.
The welcome event was a gesture of respect to the Paralympian. Members of both unions gathered at the airport to receive Hokato H Sema and accorded him a traditional welcome.
