The North East Network (NEN) has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the brutal murder of a 22-year-old woman whose body was found at Old Ministers’ Hill, Kohima, on October 25, 2025.
In a statement issued by Pamchingla Kumrah, State Coordinator of NEN Nagaland, the organization described the incident as “a gross violation of a woman’s right to a life of safety, dignity, and freedom.”

“Violence against women in any form is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated in society. Such heinous crimes reflect the urgent need for stronger measures to ensure the safety of women and girls in both public and private spaces,” the statement read.

Condemning the “barbaric act,” NEN, along with its partners across the region, urged the concerned authorities and law enforcement agencies to conduct a “swift, transparent, and thorough investigation” to ensure justice is served.

The organization also extended its solidarity to the bereaved family, stating, “We stand in solidarity with the victim’s family in their time of grief and outrage.”
