In a major opportunity for aspiring footballers in Nagaland, NorthEast United FC (NEUFC), in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), will conduct scouting trials in the state from May 6 to 9. The trials are aimed at identifying players for NEUFC’s Under-17 and Reserve Teams.

According to an official announcement, the scouting sessions will take place at two venues: on May 6 and 7 at the Government Higher Secondary School Ground in Dimapur, and on May 8 and 9 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima.

The initiative is part of NEUFC’s regional talent hunt under the banner “Unearthing the Next Highlanders.” The Indian Super League (ISL) club, which represents all eight northeastern states, is on a mission to discover and nurture emerging football talent across the region.

Eligible youth players—especially those in the U-17 category or with potential for the Reserve Team—are encouraged to attend. Participants are required to bring valid age proof documents and be equipped with proper playing gear.

Club officials stated that these trials are a key part of their grassroots development strategy and reaffirmed NEUFC’s commitment to building football infrastructure and opportunities throughout the Northeast.

The campaign is being promoted under the hashtags #StrongerAsOne, #8States1United, and #NEUFCScouting.
