Kohima, March 20 (MTNews): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee said today that the Naga People’s Front has compromised with Hundutva and communalism by joining the United Democratic Alliance and questioned the NPF on filing its candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Nagaland.
“Is NPF serious on filing Rajya Sabha nominations to defend and protect Nagaland’s identity, religion, culture and social practices, or, is it another act of camouflaging regionalism?” the NPCC asked.
However, NPCC said that “it would be wonderful” if the Naga People’s Front “realize their past mistakes and rise to defend and protect the secular image specially that of a Christian dominated state.”
Further, the NPCC through its president K Therie said that Congress in Nagaland has its own Constitution that is based on the principle of being regional in content and national in outlook. “We firmly uphold socialist, secular and democratic principles,” NPCC declared.
