NPF 8 Western Angami A/C resolve to keep up with its ‘regional constituency’ image

Kohima, November 30 (MTNews): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency held a consultative meeting today at Central office and resolved that the constituency, being the stronghold of the regional party, assert to elect a regional candidature in the next election, if it is conducted.

The meeting also reaffirmed to uphold the party principle and endorsed the leadership of President, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu and Legislature leader, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu.

While condemning the defection of 8 Western AC MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro who was elected from the party ticket, the AC meeting asserted that the office bearers of the AC is fully set and that none of the office bearers of the Division and Central representing from the constituency has left the party with MLA but is intact.

Further, it said, “the resolution also condemned over the forge signature of the NPF party workers into the NDPP office bearers list and expressed surprise to see many of the NPF workers who were very much part of the party, their signatures were forged into the defection list.”

The meeting also reaffirmed its fullest preparedness for the next general election under the NPF leadership if an election is held.

During the meeting, the AC President, Makole Suosahie giving his presidential address pointed out that the regional party NPF was founded from the 8 Western Angami AC by Late A Kevichüsa and asserted that the constituency needed a stable regional leader in the coming days.

The President also lamented that MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro had defected to NDPP without any knowledge or consent of the party workers and accused that he had no authority to dissolve the AC office bearers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Central General Secretary, Goneiu Sirie said that the NPF party is not a one man army party but it is based on principle and ideology and the party belongs to the Naga people. He also said that the Western Angami AC is considered as a “regional constituency” and that the Naga people look up to them as such. “However, we elected the present MLA from the party ticket but he defected to another political party,” he said.

Exhorting the meeting, he said that 21 NPF MLAs have defected “but the Naga public is still with the party as the party represents the Naga identity.” Goneiu also called upon the party leaders to be committed and work for the coming election.

The Working President of the Kohima Division, Vira Lhousa who also spoke on the occasion has appreciated “the spirit of regionalism in the Western Angami AC though the MLA has deserted” and believed that NPF, which is considered as the party for the Naga people, “will soon rouse again in the formation of next Government.”

He also said that many political parties have come and gone but the NPF will “exist till the Naga people exist and NPF party will keep on inheriting by the generation to come.”

The program was chaired by AC Working President, Menuovilie Suohu, while the AC General Secretary, Ruopfüzhalie Zhünyü invoked God’s blessing and AC Vice President, Ruokuopielie Rutsa delivered the welcome address.
