The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed its support for the Union Home Ministry’s initiative to convene a meeting with elected representatives of the Naga, Kuki, and Meitei communities in Delhi. In a statement, the NPF described the meeting as “timely,” especially as “tensions continue to disrupt peace and harmony among these ethnic groups.”

The party viewed this step as critical for initiating “meaningful dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Manipur.” Recent media reports have highlighted varying perspectives on the nature and potential outcomes of the meeting. Some sources express optimism about reconciliation, while others voice skepticism regarding the willingness of all parties to engage constructively, the NPF noted.

In light of these differing viewpoints, the NPF urged all participants to approach the discussions with “an open mind, reconciliation, and mutual respect.” The party anticipated a renewed commitment from all parties to ensure the protection and safety of all citizens. “The NPF remains supportive of any initiative that promotes the welfare of all communities and restores normalcy in the state,” it added.
