The Naga People’s Front (NPF) strongly condemns the arrest of two Catholic nuns and three tribal women in Chhattisgarh on allegations of human trafficking and religious conversion. Such incidents reflect a worrying trend of targeting minorities, often based on false complaints and communal bias.

This case, reportedly lacking credible evidence and triggered by a fringe group, raises serious concerns over the misuse of legal provisions to harass those engaged in humanitarian work. The role of Christian missionaries, especially among tribal communities, has been one of service—and must be respected.

The NPF urges the Chhattisgarh government to conduct a fair and time-bound investigation. If the charges are baseless, those arrested should be released immediately, and those behind false allegations held accountable. The NPF stands for justice, secularism, and the rights of all citizens.
