As the Christian community across Nagaland and beyond observes the solemnity of Good Friday and celebrates the joy of Easter, political leaders and parties have conveyed heartfelt messages to mark the occasion.
The Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) extended Easter greetings to the people, stating, “As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, may His victory over death inspire us to walk in faith, hope, and love.” The party encouraged believers to let the holy season “renew our spirit of unity, strengthen our commitment to truth, and fill our hearts with peace and gratitude.”
The NPF further added, “May the message of Easter guide us to serve one another with humility, compassion, and courage,” while wishing everyone “a Blessed and Joyful Easter.”
Meanwhile, Nagaland’s Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), S. Supongmeren Jamir, extended his Good Friday message to the people of Nagaland and beyond.
“Good Friday is a sacred day that calls us to pause and reflect on the selfless sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the redemption of mankind,” Jamir stated. He described the day as “marked by sorrow, yet filled with hope – reminding us that through suffering, love triumphs; and through sacrifice, salvation is found.”
He urged citizens to draw inspiration from “Christ’s love, humility, and forgiveness,” and called on everyone to use the occasion for “deep reflection, renewed faith, and a commitment to walk the path of compassion and righteousness.”
