The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed strong disapproval over the reported disruption caused by members of the Indian National Congress during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on February 20.

While affirming its respect for the democratic right to protest and recognizing dissent as an essential element of India’s democracy, the party described the interruption as “unfortunate and ill-timed,” noting that it risked undermining India’s image and distracting from its strategic priorities.

The NPF stated that the summit, attended by international delegates, technology leaders, investors, and policymakers, was an official Government of India program and not a political event. “As such, it represented a platform to showcase India’s innovation, stability, and policy commitment to the world,” the party said.

Highlighting the importance of national interest over party politics, the NPF appealed to all political parties to exercise restraint and avoid using international forums for partisan confrontation.

“Disagreements, no matter how strongly felt, should be expressed through Parliament and other constitutional mechanisms, where they can be debated responsibly and transparently. National interest must always take precedence over party politics,” it added.

The NPF further called upon all stakeholders to uphold the dignity of democratic processes and act in ways that safeguard and strengthen India’s global image.
