The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Elders Council observed the 36th United Nations International Day of Older Persons at the Kohima Division conference hall on Wednesday.

Speaking as the main speaker, NPF Working President H. Chuba Chang said a society that does not respect its elders has no future. He said age should not be a barrier to contributing to society, urging older persons to keep their minds active and continue contributing their wisdom and experience.
NPF Senior Vice President and Central Office Bearer in-charge Kruzakie said the occasion recognised the contributions of older persons to society. He highlighted their role in preserving Naga heritage and culture and urged younger generations to understand and appreciate the contributions of elders.
Kruzakie also appreciated NPF President and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for recognising the role of elders. He said the manner in which society treats its older persons reflects its values and called on elders to continue sharing their wisdom for the growth of the party and society.
NPF Vice President (Admin) Akho Leyri also stressed the contribution of elders to the party and encouraged members to strengthen the Elders Council.
