Kohima, 9 April (MTNews): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) President, Apong Pongener, on Tuesday appealed to all the rank and file of the party and well-wishers in Nagaland to support Dr. Chumben Murry, the People’s Democratic Alliance’s (PDA) consensus candidate in the ensuing Lok Sabha Election for the lone Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency scheduled to be held on 19 April 2024.
He also urged the rank and file of party workers and the well-wishers to strengthen the resolution of the NPF Central Working Committee passed on 11 March 2024 to support the PDA consensus candidate. This, he said, is for the common good and betterment of Naga society in the long run.
The NPF President mentioned that the NPF had submitted a letter of support to the PDA government in the early part of 2023 to strengthen the ongoing Indo-Naga Peace process.
Accordingly, the NPF Central Working Committee has unanimously resolved to support the PDA consensus candidate in response to the official letter received from the President of the NDPP requesting the support of the NPF party in the ensuing Parliamentary Election, he added.
