The Naga People’s Front (NPF) relief team visited Mon district on July 29 to express solidarity with people affected by the tragic landslide of July 19 that claimed 11 lives.

The team met with representatives of the Konyak Union and conveyed condolences on behalf of the party. During the meeting, the NPF team handed over Rs 6 lakh in relief assistance to the Konyak Union.
According to the NPF, the amount was raised through voluntary contributions from party members and well-wishers.
The relief team was led by Advisor to the Chief Minister Apong Pongener, Working President Ahovi Awomi, Senior Vice President Khongjah Konyak, Vice President Shamlau Konyak and General Secretary Manpha Konyak.
Meanwhile, the NPF expressed deep sorrow over the landslide at Upper Penli Ward, Mokokchung town, on July 28, which claimed the lives of two brothers.
The deceased were identified as Muwalong Sangtam, 19, and Thridiba Sangtam, 16, both students of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
The party conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength for the family during the period of grief.
