Kohima, March 19 (MTNews): Former Home Minister of Nagaland and working president of the Naga People’s Front, Thenucho Tunyi has come forward to stand as NPF candidate for the ensuing biennial election to the Rajya Sabha, voting for which is scheduled to take place on March 31. NPF president Shürhozelie Liezietsu has requested the leader of NPF Legislature Party, TR Zeliang, in a letter “to take up this matter and entrust the required number of MLAs to sign the nomination paper on Monday morning, i.e. 21st March, 2022 so as to enable the Party’s nominee to file his nomination in time.”

 

Further, the NPF president has also authorized Vimeno Kuotsu, co-convenor, Legal Cell, NPF to laison with the Returning Officer for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elecdtion on behalf of the NPF. “She is also authorized to collect and file the nomination paper for and on behalf of the party official candidate, Mr. Thenucho Tunyi,” the NPF president wrote in an authorization letter which has been duly received by the Returning Officer.
