The Naga Political Groups (NPGs), Tribal Hohos, and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) met on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Chümoukedima and resolved to continue strengthening the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship (CNCR). The meeting concluded with a collective agreement “to work together by respecting each other based on the Historical and Political Rights of the Nagas.”

The gathering reflects ongoing efforts to build a united front among Naga groups and institutions, facilitated by the FNR, which has played a consistent role in promoting dialogue and cooperation over the years.

The FNR had earlier facilitated a landmark meeting on March 24, 2025, where 46 members from the FNR, NPGs, and tribal bodies adopted resolutions “to strengthen political collaboration.” That resolution had called upon “the highest leadership of the NPGs to attend this critical gathering,” referring to the April 22 meeting. The March meeting also marked a commitment from the tribal bodies to “formally join as official participants” in the CNCR from the next meeting onward, as per the accord signed on January 14, 2025.

The January 14, 2025, meeting had witnessed the NPGs and FNR jointly resolving to implement the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship, signaling a new phase in intra-Naga cooperation.

The FNR has consistently promoted a vision of peace and unity among the Nagas. On December 22, 2023, it emphasized that peace must go “beyond mere absence of conflict” and urged for an “inclusive vision for Naga identity and future.” Earlier, on January 21, 2023, it asserted that “the Nagas are moving ahead,” while in October 2022, the FNR had highlighted that Naga apex organisations supported the “September Joint Accordant.”
