Kohima, September 16 (MTNews): As part of the 11th leg of the District Tour undertaken by the State Team of National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland, a Consultative Meeting with the State Parent Body cum Induction Program of New Members of the NPP Kohima District Unit was held at Hotel Ura near Red Cross Building, Kohima on 15th September 2022 which was also attended by officials of the State as well as the Kohima District Frontal Bodies including Women and Youth Wings along with prospective candidates for the upcoming Assembly Election of 2023 from Kohima.
During the course of the business hour, new members of NPP Kohima District Unit were inducted into the party folds. The newly constituted team of NPP Kohima District Unit includes Dr. Keviseto Kintso, Convenor; Dr. Moalong Longchar, District Advisor; Dr. Ketholezo Sorünuo, Vice President; Dr. Ketoulelhou Vizo, General Secretary (Org); Losii Khekho, General Secretary (Admin); Er. Meshenlo Kath, General Secretary (Media & IPR); Kavi I. Chishi, General Secretary (Pol. Affairs); Chenchulo Kath, General Secretary; Avituo Zhünyü, Treasurer; Petekhrielie Peter Mere, Spokesperson and Mohan Deori, Convenor, District Minority Cell.
In his address to the gathering, the State President, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema expressed immense joy at the proactive role played by the party workers of Kohima in enrolling new active as well as primary members and underscored the importance of the NPP in Kohima, being the capital of the state and a crucial constituency as well.
He expressed and highlighted that NPP is gaining good momentum and many like-minded people as well as intending candidates are approaching and seeking for the party’s ticket but the party was keeping a very low profile as of now and will publicly announce the official candidates and the party’s plans for the upcoming polls at the right and opportune moment. He also projected the main aim and aspiration of NPP as a people’s party which was to bring about rapid development of the region with a collective effort of all concerned.
The other speakers during the meeting included Deo Nukhu, former Minister and Senior State Advisor; Lima Longchar, State Advisor cum Convenor, NPP Mokokchung District; Dr. Keviseto Kintso, Convenor, NPP Kohima District and William Kelengoto Soleho, President, NPYF, Kohima District.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Keviseto Kintso, Convenor, NPP Kohima while the invocation prayer was said by Vikenoto Ltu. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Moa Imchen, General Secretary (Pol. Affairs), State NPYF which was followed by Mass Benediction.
