BZ Entertainment, a Drama and Film Society, is continuing its efforts to raise HIV awareness in Nagaland through a 60-show Street Play tour as part of the second phase of their project. In partnership with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), the initiative aims to educate communities across the state about HIV transmission, prevention, testing, and the importance of reducing stigma and discrimination.
The tour began in Dimapur on October 10, 2024, with shows at various locations including Railway Bazaar, Notun Bosti near City Tower, Burma Camp Bazaar, Purana Bazaar Junction, and several others.
BZ Entertainment plans to deliver 10 street plays in each district, ensuring a wide reach. The plays focus on providing essential information about HIV, including how it’s transmitted and why testing is important. After each performance, the NSACS Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (MICTC) offers free HIV testing and counseling.
To further assist the public, the team is sharing contact details for the District Programme Officer (DPO) at each venue, so people can get more information about their HIV status and seek help if needed.
BZ Entertainment hopes that using art can help create positive change in the community and encourage more awareness around HIV.
