The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has issued a clarification following the interception and seizure of arms and ammunition reportedly by Indian security forces at Chozuba on the night of October 20, 2025.
In a statement issued by the group’s Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the NSCN/GPRN (Niki) explained that the weapons belonged to its Naga Regions of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding (TCL) “in the so called State of Arunachal Pradesh” and were being transported to the group’s General Headquarters (GHQ), Suruhuto designated camp.

According to the statement, the seizure “aroused due to miscommunication between different agencies.” The group maintained that the movement and withdrawal of arms and ammunition were carried out “in view of the deteriorating situation in the so-called state of Arunachal Pradesh” and were intended “to maintain peace in that region.”
The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) further stated that both its civil and military cadres across all Naga-inhabited areas “are bound to uphold the Indo-Naga political peace process,” despite the ceasefire being officially in effect only within the state of “Nagaland.”
”NSCN/GPRN is committed to the peace process in the interest of all stakeholders. Therefore, all stakeholders should be mindful and serious about maintaining peace so that the Indo-Naga political talks can be held in a congenial atmosphere,” it stated.
