Mokokchung, 21 December (MTNews): In an emergency cabinet meeting held on December 21, 2024, the NSCN/GPRN-R [Akato] expressed regret over the assault case reported on December 17, allegedly involving some of its cadres.
Following a thorough investigation, the organization identified three cadres—Jonathan Poumai, Lamtsaba Sangtam, and Kakuho Achumi—who were found to have colluded with certain individuals from the public in perpetrating the reprehensible act.
The NSCN/GPRN-R [Akato] clarified that “the unfortunate yet deplorable actions were all personal and does not reflect the action of the Govt. whatsoever.”
To uphold fairness and accountability, the NSCN/GPRN-R [Akato] announced the termination and disownment of the accused individuals, allowing the law to take its course without any bias.
Additionally, the NSCN/GPRN-R declared the suspension of its Crime Control Department (CCD) with immediate effect. All staff under the CCD have been recalled as part of the corrective measures.
