The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) has refuted reports circulating on digital media platforms regarding an alleged internal dispute over the recent promotion and appointment of Longvibu, Naga Army.

In a statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the NSCN/GPRN expressed “indignation against the digital media platforms” for sensationalizing what it termed as “unverified news” spread by certain elements. The NSCN/GPRN clarified that the promotion of Maj. General Honreishang Shadang, MSM, MC, to the rank of Lieutenant General and his designation to succeed General Anthony Ningkhan as Longvibu (Commander-in-Chief) of the Naga Army was a “collective decision of NSCN leadership guided by the Naga Army Rules and Regulations.”

The NSCN asserted that “no unilateral decision is applied in this kind of high-profile Naga Army appointment” and dismissed claims of any internal power struggle. “No such thing as power struggle exists in any respect whatsoever,” the statement emphasized.

Condemning the spread of what it described as “concocted piece of information,” the NSCN/GPRN urged digital media outlets not to amplify unverified news to serve “vested interests.”

Reaffirming its stance, the NSCN/GPRN stated that “the order issued by Yaruiwo on 29th October 2025 stands as it is.”
