The NSCN/GPRN has condemned what it described as a “false and irresponsible” social media post claiming that its Deputy Ato Kilonser, V.S. Atem of Talui village, is expected to replace Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) on Friday, the NSCN/GPRN said it had come to their attention that a Facebook group called The Watch Point Journal published a post on October 29, 2025, making the “baseless claim” that “Dy. Ato Kilonser V.S. Atem of Talui village is expected to soon replace Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah; both are from the Ukhrul district.”
“The baseless claim directly undermines the authority, administration, and leadership of the GPRN,” the statement read, adding that the organization treats “such fabrications with the utmost seriousness, as they sow confusion, erode public trust, and endanger the integrity of the organization.”
The NSCN/GPRN stated that the post appeared to be part of an effort to “attack the political significance of Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah’s home visit,” following what it termed as the “huge success” of Muivah’s recent public meetings in Ukhrul, Somdal, and Senapati. “A kind of spellbound situation has been created in the minds of the Indian security forces and intelligence agencies,” the statement observed.
Condemning the post “in the strongest possible terms,” the NSCN/GPRN demanded that the administrators of The Watch Point Journal ”immediately delete the offensive post in its entirety.”
“The NSCN/GPRN will not tolerate the spread of unauthenticated, divisive, or malicious information under any circumstances,” the statement warned, adding that “any further violations will be met with appropriate action.”
