The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has issued a clarification regarding the recent defection of some of its members to the NNC/FGN group, stating that the organisation had earlier extended an opportunity for inclusive service to individuals from various factions.
In a statement issued by Secretary to the GPRN, Q Swu, it stated that while it had welcomed home-comers in good faith for the broader Naga cause, a few individuals had defected again, allegedly for personal gain. It further stated that the ranks claimed by the defectors in certain media reports were incorrect.
The organisation listed the individuals as Khutovi Awomi, Atovi Chishi, Akito Achumi, Kughalu Achumi, Kakheto Zhimo and Semato Awomi, stating that they had been inducted as members of the Steering Committee at the time of their home-coming on April 8, 2025.
The GPRN also clarified that Akahoto Awomi and Mughalu Aye, who have described themselves as ‘Tatar’, are not members of the organisation. It cautioned both individuals against misusing or impersonating the organisation’s name in the future.
