Mokokchung, 17 August (MTNews): A Consultative Meeting of NSCN/GPRN Parliamentarians, including Steering Executive Members, Steering Committee Members, Kilonsers, Deputy Kilonsers, and Tatars of Ao, Lotha, and Naga Rengma Hills (CAA), was convened today, 17August 2023 at Hotel Saramati Dimapur.
The focal point of the meeting was the political concept of the Naga political movement under the banner of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), with the slogan “Nagalim for Christ.” According to an update, it is this very slogan that has motivated NSCN members and helped them maintain unity and cooperation.
“The spirit of self-sacrifice among the Nagas and the undaunted fighting spirit of NSCN find meaning in this slogan. It was under this ‘never give up’ spirit that NSCN boldly asserted its stance during the Indo-Naga political talks that began in 1997. This resolute spirit bore fruit when the historic Framework Agreement was signed on August 3, 2015,” stated the NSCN-IM MIP in a press release.
The release added, “The members proudly showcased their commitment to stand by this hard-earned achievement, which defines the indelible sovereign identity of the Naga people and the Naga Nation.”
The meeting also took note of the ongoing ethnic conflict between the Meiteis and Kuki-Zo in Manipur, emphasizing the need to remain “extra vigilant to protect our land and political identity.”
