Mokokchung, 20 July (MTNews): Leaders of the NSCN-IM have emphasized the importance of staying the course and working with greater vigor and courage to achieve the political aspirations for which NSCN was founded, particularly for members falling under the Eastern Naga People’s Organization (ENPO). This was discussed during the “Consultative Meeting of Parliamentarians” convened by the Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) of the NSCN-IM.
According to a press release received here, the meeting was convened under the theme “Unity in Diversity” on 19 July at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur, focusing on addressing the exigencies surrounding the Naga political issue. The parliamentarians included Kilonsers, Deputy Kilonsers, and Tatars.
As the way forward for an honourable Naga political solution, it was informed that a resolution was adopted “to stand upright and united to keep on supporting the historic Framework Agreement of the 3rd August, 2015.”
“There was a meaningful understanding of the situation as the NSCN leaders stressed that NSCN members, particularly those falling under the ENPO must stay the course and work hard with more vigour and courage to meet the political aspirations for which NSCN was founded,” it said.
During the meeting, the keynote address was given by Maj Retd Kewe Mero, Kilo Kilonser, GPRN and short speech by Capt Retd Samson Jajo, Kilonser, MIP.
Speeches were delivered by Rev A Puni and Angnaikham Makunga, members of the NSCN-IM Collective Leadership, while vote of thanks was given by its Chaplee Kilonser, Zhehoto Awomi.
